On this date in 1979, The Patti Smith Group released the single, "So You Wanna Be (A Rock N' Roll Star)". It was a live track. One version had a live version of "5-4-3-2-1" and a studio version of "Fire Of Unknown Origin" as the B side. Another had a live version of "Frederick" as the B side. It was Patti Smith's seventh single. Studio versions of the A side as well as "Frederick" apperared on her fourth album, Wave.
